A book to movie adaptation can be difficult as you already have a fanbase of the book and trying to get the film right is tough, people will have different ideas of what they expect for these projects and you can’t make everyone happy but I am always excited to see the comparison of book to movie, in the past some movies I think could have been better and I prefer the book still then there’s times I think the adaptation has been spot on.

Regretting You by Colleen Hoover- 24th October 2025: There is a lot of Colleen Hoover adaptions in this list and I am a big fan of her but I don’t think I have read this book yet, so it is on my list as I feel like if I can read the book before watching the movie I should otherwise if I leave it till after I probably won’t read it. I did like the ‘It Ends With Us’ adaptation but for me they missed a few key things, so let’s see what happens with this one.

The Housemaid by Freida McFadden – 24th December 2025: My friend has recommended this book to me for the longest time and I need to get a move on a read it. I think because it’s not usually a genre I read that is what stalled me but because I seen the cast Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar & Michele Morrone and was really excited by this it has given me the push to get this read before going to see the movie.

People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry – 9th January 2026: I haven’t read any of Emily Henry yet but from looking at the blurb of this book since there is no trailer yet I am looking forward to it. The blurb hints that they have a falling out of some sort and 2 years later agree to go on another holiday, in a way this makes me not want to read the book before seeing this movie as then I won’t know why they fell out and I have a feeling it’s juicy. I have seen Tom Blyth in the most recent Hunger Games movie and think he is a great actor but this will be my first encounter of Emily Bader

Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover – 13th February 2026: I have read this book a few times, the first time in one day, where I was crying my eyes so I am extremely excited to see the adaptation especially when they have casted some people I haven’t seen act before like Maika Monroe & Tyrik Withers but I have seen projects Lauren Graham and Rudy Pankow have been in. I hope this stays very true to the book, will be rereading it before I go see this.

You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle – 2026: I only knew this was a book after seeing the pictures of Penn Badgley & Meghann Fahey that were released and having read up on what this book was about I am excited to see them as the protagonists. Again, it’s another book I think I could be happy to not read before it comes out but also I’m intrigued to see how closely the sabotaging they do would relate to the books. Either way it’s a film I’ll be lining up to see as not seen Penn Badgley in something that isn’t ‘You’ or ‘Gossip Girl’ and my only run in with Fahey was ‘Sirens’ this year but she made an impression and them both together I think will be fabulous.

Verity by Colleen Hoover – 2nd October 2026: When I seen the first images of them shooting this movie, I couldn’t have been more excited, was sending lots of TikToks back and forth between my friends about this, will definitely be a girls night out activity for us. I don’t remember who I pictured for the character’s when I was reading the book but the casting they got for this is sensational Dakota Johnson as Lowen, Anne Hathaway as Verity and Josh Hartnett as Jeremy.
